What: Bar Association Meeting—Open to all family and Board of Directors, too.
Where: North Star Youth Court office, 800 Cushman Street. 8th Avenue entrance, up the fire escape stairs.
When:  Every first Wednesday of EVERY month, 5:30 - 6:30 PM

What:    Mediator Corps Meeting
Where: North Star Youth Mediation Office, 800 Cushman Street. 8th Avenue entrance, up the fire escape stairs.
When:   Third Wednesday of EVERY month, 5-6 PM

If you are unable to attend the monthly meeting please fill out a proxy form (found here) and turn into an executive council officer prior to meeting to ensure your vote and participation counts.

What: MCA Class
Where: North Start Youth Court Office
When: March 20th, 2010

Every month, usually on the last Saturday of every month, we hold an Alcohol awareness class as a sentencing requirement for NSYC defendants charged with minor consuming. We need Youth Court volunteers who would like to help out by presenting information, giving input and/or researching topics about alcohol and its effects. If you would like to help out or have any questions, please give Michele a call at the Youth Court office, 457-6792.

What: Spring 2010 Attorney Training Class
Where: West Valley High School, Room 224
When: March 22nd- April 14th, Monday and Wednesday evenings only, 5 - 7 PM

Students will need to provide their own transportation. Curriculum materials will be provided.

This training will end with a Mock Trial Clinic and Swearing-in Ceremony on Saturday April 17th, from 10:00am – 3:30pm at the Rabinowitz Courthouse. This is the only time the courtroom will be open to the public, so bring your cameras!

Where: Randy Smith Middle School
When:   Basic (Peer & Victim-Offender Mediation Training), June 7-11, 2010; 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
               Advanced (Parent-Teen & Student-Teacher Mediation Training), June 14-18, 2010; 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

North Star Youth Mediation is pleased to announce free mediation training for youth between the ages of 12 and 18 years. Mediation training teaches critical skills in communication and conflict resolution. Students need to provide their own transportation. Curriculum materials and refreshments for break times will be provided. Students may bring snacks and drinks. Adults may register on a space-available basis with tuition of $100.00 or 10 volunteer hours with the mediation program.
